M.T.A. has acquired the distribution rights to the motion picture, TRIVIATOWN. The film documents the world's largest trivia contest which takes place in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. This year's contest begins on April 11 and the initial release of the DVD is being timed to coincide with the contest. Subsequent marketing and promotion will be geared to audiences with similar interests such as those involved with crossword puzzles, Scrabble contests and the like.

M.T.A. is proud to announce the acquisition of the incredible motion picture, BIG WAVE. The film investigates the physical and spiritual experience inherent in the  extreme sport of Tow-In Surfing. Surfers are towed by personal watercrafts into waves that are taller than a five-story building. The film tells us why some people risk their lives in extreme conditions and examines what motivates them to reach their goals.  Six cameras (HD, S-16mm and 35mm) were shooting simultaneously from air, water and the cliffs that surround Jaws, located in the Maui Island, considered the world’s best point for big waves. The result is an astonishing visual style - and a lot of adrenaline.


Star Slyderz


The much anticipated release of STARSLYDERZ is at hand. The film was the hit of the recent Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal and Variety proclaimed in its review, "Cult status is assured!!" Although the other M.T.A. releases are documentaries, STARSLYDERZ is the first M.T.A. release of a narrative feature length film. The film is an intelligent send-up of 1970s-1980s STAR WARS type of film, complete with G.I Joe characters interspersed throughout, and is expected to have a large audience not only through Sci-Fi outlets but comic book outlets as well. The film was made by two young filmmakers, Garrin Vincent and Mike Budde, who see the film and its M.T.A. release as a way to launch their own movie-making careers.



M.T.A recently attended the Berlin Film Festival, and will next be represented at the upcoming MIP TV. We will then be attending the Tribeca Film Festival in New York in late April and then the Cannes Film Festival in May. As always, these markets and festivals are M.T.A.'s lifeblood in terms of acquiring new programming. We estimate that approximately 80% of our films are acquired through these festivals and markets.
